You should see the movie/documentary Earthlings. That one changed my life, for the better of course. I try to tell people the message and I get hit with "don't preach about your beliefs" nonsense. But it's okay for them to talk about how much they loved the steak they just had, right? Oh well, one can only do so much.

I did read Skinny Bitch about a year and a half ago, and sadly (one book) literally changed my whole mindset about food. Since reading the book, I have completely eliminated meat from my diet and find myself reading about animal maltreatment all the time, as well as promoting the message to friends and family about slaughterhouses and the "you are what you eat" motto.

I am very proud of the girls that wrote this book because it really did affect me in a positive way!

I haven't read the Skinny Bitch cookbook, but I did get given a promo copy of Skinny Bitch at my old job and I was actually really impressed with it.

Just like you I loved their straight talking, no nonsense attitude and their chapters on the reality of meat and where it comes from were brilliant. They didn't spare the gory details and I think it'd take a tough person to read their slaughter descriptions and not have second thoughts about their meat based diets! Reading that book only helped confirm my choice to be vegetarian and make me more determined to become vegan!
